After all, we’re having a 60th reunion this summer!

July 18 and 19, 2025;  5:00 P.M. each evening; Buskey Field

(Sorry about the short notice.)

Under the rationale “better with short notice than never”:

At last summer’s COVID-delayed 55th reunion, many folks asked whether we were going to have an on-time 60th reunion during the summer of 2025. At the time, the answer was no. (It requires a lot of work!) However, numerous classmates have expressed a lot of “carpe diem” sentiment in favor of a 2025 reunion to celebrate our 60th. So despite the short notice (for which we apologize), we’ve finally decided to go ahead with a reunion this summer. (Again, better late than never!)

For this year, we’ve changed the format slightly: The Friday night dinner now is a low-key cookout (including hamburgers and hot dogs that we’ll cook for ourselves on the grill, supplemented with “potluck” appetizers, salads, and desserts brought by all attendees). Then on Saturday, we’ll have the usual, Blood’s-catered dinner, including the various entrée choices specified below.

Please know that we will need to have a definite, advance commitment from each classmate attendee to bring a “potluck” appetizer, salad, or dessert on Friday evening. We’ll also need volunteers to commit in advance to help with setup and/or cleanup on each evening, so the Buskeys (who have done yeoman’s service over the years) finally can relax and enjoy the reunion along with the rest of us.

If you will be attending, please fill out the registration form at the end of this notice, indicating the specific type of “potluck” appetizer, salad, or dessert you will be bringing for the Friday night cookout, your Saturday evening entrée choice, and your commitment(s) to help with setup and/or cleanup on either or both evenings.

Please deal early on with the registration form (see below) and your check (payable to Dianne Buskey) for the cost of all meals. Those should be mailed early, to arrive at Dianne’s house in Hanover no later than June 18, 2025. (See below for the registration form, Dianne’s snail mail address, and more reunion details.)

Here are some more specifics:

Friday night cookout dinner (including self-cooked grill items and the “potluck” appetizers, salads, and desserts):

Friday night’s supper: hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers available for us to cook for ourselves on the BBQ grill, plus the “potluck” appetizers, salads, and desserts brought by classmates (who will need to let us know in advance specifically what they will be bringing, so we can make sure to have enough of each type of item). We’ll also have sodas, beer, and wine. The per-person charge for Friday evening will be $23.

Saturday night dinner (catered by Blood’s):

Maintaining our tradition, Saturday evening is banquet night! The food will be provided by Blood’s Catering. All entrées must be pre-selected and pre-paid for each attendee. See below for entrée choices and pricing.

To attend the reunion, you must register by the 6/18/25 deadline, including a check for meals (payable to Dianne Buskey). To help us to plan, you need to specify the specific “potluck” appetizer, salad, or dessert that you will be bringing for Friday night’s dinner and also whether you definitely will be able to help with setting up and/or cleaning up on Friday and/or Saturday evenings.

Be sure to mail all that early enough to arrive before the 6/18/25 deadline because we’ll need to plan for supplies and to provide advance info to the caterer regarding attendance and meal choices.
