Bio Summary:

Dec. 19, 2010 –

I started using C. Harrison when I moved to Plymouth in 1972. New start and all. Harry for short. But Clyde is fine with me, more comfortable for me in many ways and less confusing for folks from the high school era.

Enfield is pretty good. In some ways reminds me of Hanover in our youth. Nice small town feel to it. I am president of the Enfield Village Association (improving downtown appearance, building community events) after several years as treasurer. Living on the lake [Mascoma] is beautiful on nice days like today, not so great when cold and windy – I miss my garage!!

School Memories:

Nov. 25, 2010 –

I think Dick Whittall died around 1982, because I recall being 35 at the time. It was sobering news.

Dick, Dave Pushee, Nelson LaMott and I palled around a lot in high school. We did a lot of waterskiing on Mascoma Lake. One time Dick dove off the boat and lost his glasses. Years later the lake was lowered while work was done on the dam. My aunt and uncle (whose camp we used as our headquarters) were walking on the lake bed and found his glasses! He was gone by then.

I remember visiting Dick’s father’s factory where he made fiberglass boats. It was in Lebanon, I think. The boats had fins on the stern, much like the cars of that era. I don’t think he was very successful, but now and then I spot one of those boats on the lake.

Dec. 2, 2010 –

Kindergarten: must have been Miss Shaw. I remember being in the room on the right. Mrs. Grover, Stimson and Richmond were my favorite teachers. I remember going into Mr. Howe’s class for one subject, English I think. I remember the desks in a circle and Mr. Howe in the center in a beat up old easy chair. He was kind of scary!
